STOCK

FOOTAGE

NOTES

:must be related:

you will be judged by your ability to source stock footage - the stock footage must be directly related to the context of the speakers words - ask yourself; "Will the footage i'm about to source and edit trigger an emotional response? Will it impact the viewer emotionally when it is added in the edit?"

:must be high quality:

high quality means that the footage itself must be HD unless you deliberately want to use vintage footage for the sake of giving the video meaning and character.

:emotion:

the footage itself must capture and pull on peoples heart strings - it must have an emotional effect on people! - be truthful and ask yourself: "Does this stock footage emotionally impact me?"  It's very important to be honest with yourself... as, if I notice generic stock footage that doesn't emotionally impact me, you're video will be immediately rejected.
